PPI is proud to announce that we’re upgrading our fleet of service vehicles to the new Mercedes-Benz Sprinter. The first of these vans will be outfitted and on the road in the next two weeks.
Why the change? We’re always trying to improve the quality, cost and effectiveness of PPI’s mobile equipment service for our customers. These new vehicles will help achieve this in several ways.
The Sprinter comes with an efficient diesel engine so, even as the price of fuel rises, there will be less impact on our current travel rates. An added benefit will be fewer greenhouse gasses and pollution.
The Sprinter has a larger cargo area that’s ideally suited for parts storage. To get customers up and running quickly, our technicians carry a wide range of parts with them. Based on the fact that we repair the most makes and models of strapping and stretch wrap equipment in the market, having enough in-vehicle parts storage space is critical. There’s also standup head-room in the cargo area so we’ve fitted a work bench, vice, bearing press, and other equipment to create an in-vehicle service centre. This will allow us to do even more on-site work without having to return to our depot. The aim is to reduce repair time and travel costs, especially for those customers with little or no maintenance facilities of their own.
Keep an eye out for these vans and give us a wave when you pass.
